The Plumbing Field Advisor role requires effective appointment setting and closing skills, the ability to WOW our customers, a flexible work schedule, exemplary verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to get the job done. Your success in this role will also depend on strong relationships with your technician team, dispatch, and field supervisors — because we all need each other to reach and exceed our goals.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Welcome incoming plumbing inquiries with genuine interest; listen to and educate customers on their plumbing system options
- Accurately build and provide estimates while communicating detailed notes, rebate information, financing rates, and permit information
- Follow every job from start to finish to ensure 5-star service is delivered every time, including collecting all required signatures (agreement through financing and completion)
- Communicate with the assigned Plumbing Service Technician before and after install, and maintain close contact with the field supervisor to guarantee all promises are delivered
- Keep clients informed throughout the installation process, communicating any challenges or changes before adjustments begin
- Verify job completion to the client's satisfaction and secure payment
- Provide prompt reporting to dispatch when en route, with expected visit duration and availability for the next call
- Run plumbing service calls, diagnose plumbing systems and product failures, and clearly share findings with clients
- Construct and explain options for correction and improvement using the Mr. Drain Plumbing price guide
- Coordinate sold jobs with technicians and dispatch
- Perform basic plumbing jobs, drain cleaning, and use of video equipment
- Communicate potential return visits to the Sales Manager for system and safety evaluation findings
- Attend company meetings as scheduled
- Learn the roles of other salespeople to provide coverage when demand exceeds capacity
- Fulfill agreed-upon schedule; may be required to work overtime
Qualifications & Skills
- 4+ years of plumbing trade experience (preferred) with a proven track record of success
- 2+ years of plumbing sales experience (required)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with customers, managers, and peers
- Passion for exceptional service and a genuine desire to help others
- Team-oriented with the ability to work independently
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- High level of integrity — doing the right thing even when no one is watching
- Engaging, enthusiastic personality that thrives in a fast-paced, goal-driven environment
- Ability to manage pressure, multiple tasks, deadlines, and rapidly changing priorities
- Familiarity with ServiceTitan software is a plus
- Must pass a background check and hold a valid CA driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Ability to obtain and maintain a California non-commercial Class C driver's license and Home Improvement Sales (HIS) license
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, twist, bend, stoop, kneel, crawl, and climb stairs/ladders
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 75 lbs
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
- Ability to work in hot and cold temperature extremes
- Ability to wear required PPE (personal protective equipment)
Compensation & Benefits
Job Type: Full-Time Pay: $250,000 – $500,000 per year (most Field Advisors earn $250K or greater annually)
